Ex Norwegian plays Wallflower Gallery tonight with Aloud & Halosolar
Tonight, Ex Norwegian plays Wallflower Gallery with Halosolar & Boston's Aloud.
This looks likes a pretty decent bill. Ex Norwegian has gotten a good bit of press including a write up in CloserMagazine by Larry Boytano:
A mid-tempo, straight ahead indie rocker, “Something Unreal” features Houdialle’s light alto vocals over his strumming guitar and a simple, poppy rhythm section tightly held down by bassist Nina Souto and drummer Arturo Garcia. It’s one of those infectious, uncomplicated tunes that gets your head bobbing and your mind thinking that you’ve heard it before, but you haven’t.
As for Boston's Aloud, I checked out their myspace page, and was seriously impressed. They have a really heavy 80's influenced sound, I even hear some Thompson Twins, but they also feel a lot like Arcade Fire:
Their bio from their myspace:
Fiery rock n' roll band Aloud is known for their tight male/female vocals, exceptionally strong songwriting, and energy-filled live performances. Lead vocalists/guitarists and songwriters Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain grew up together and have been collaborating as songwriters since their early teens. The critically acclaimed up-and-coming group is based in Boston, and perform regularly throughout the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast.
Halosolar is a typical Wallflower Gallery band. Geezer Rock. Through and through. Not to diss them, but I hope their set isn't too long and they play really really really early.
The show starts at 8pm, and has an $8 cover.
