300Artist: Protoman and Fusik
Album: Kill The Radio
Label: Audio Thrift Shop Records

“Kill The Radio” brings together two different genres of music: rock and hip hop. Rap has always seemed to look at rock for samples and collaborations so the clash doesn’t come to any surprise, but this isn’t Run DMC and Aerosmith. This is south Florida's finest Protoman and Fusik. “Kill The Radio” is a collection of rhymes over drum and bass.

While listening to the album I could picture Protoman spitting his lines and Fusik jamming the hell out; both unconsciously trying to out shine one another (which is a great formula to bring the best out of both). It is definitely what happened in this album. The whole album is a breath of fresh air (compared to what you hear on the radio) and remains chill and upbeat. Still “Kill the Radio” finds a way to stay serious with, the song “Why Do I?” where Protoman faces a common question for a lot of MCs - why continue to rhyme?  Thankfully for us he does continue to make great music besides all the hardship.

The album is shorter than expected and makes you want more. Overall it showcases both artists doing what they do best. I would recommend this album to any one who likes music, period. I would recommend it even more to catch Portoman and Fusik live.
