Sandy, a.k.a. Lady Anime, is my oldest and dearest friend. We have been friends over a decade, which is truly an accomplishment for me seeing how I have lost more friends than Elton John.
Sandy has always supported me from my days at G-mix to the Hardrock Cafe, from my band The Gimmicks to my solo electro action. Sandy is the kind of friend that will always take your call, help you off the ledge, and sit and talk to you till you realize that "bitch in your life" is not worth it.
If I had a nickel for every time Sandy calmed me down, I'd have like 421 dollars and forty-five cents which is a good little stack of loot. I was even the one to first coin the phrase "Lady Anime, la princessa-de-la-noche", which is Spanish for the princess of the night. Many people consider her the queen of the South Florida goth scene, but to me she will always be a princess, because a princess is young and beautiful, not to mention queens remind me of old British crabs and fruity tuttis.
I am so proud to see how Sandy has evolved as an artist and person, and as the anniversary of the birth of my dear friend rolls around I implore you to raise a glass and shake your ass this Wednesday at Mausoleum.
