REVMiami.com presents: PS14's Outside Concert Series.

I've been trying forever to come up with a proper name for the Friday night shows in the back of PS14, and finally it has come together.

This is going to be REVMiami's third outside show on Friday night, and I think that things are coming together nicely.  On the stage tonight is King Bee, Call It Radar, L' Savant, Rebel, and Beckham County Train Wreck.

A month ago when I posted the article Judging Groove On (Miami New Times Battle of the Bands) I got an email from Jaime Abigantus (bass) about the post and also asking to possibly do a show.

From there I've met with him several time, as well as guitarist Pete Capo, and sometimes harmonica player Eric Garcia.  I gotta admit, I really like these guys.  They're not a younger band, they've got some years at this already.  It was good to reminisce over old venues like Roses on South Beach and Cheers off Dixie Highway.

So Jaime and I built up the show.  He brought on Beckham County Train Wreck, and I brought on Call It Radar, L' Savant, and Rebel.

Call It Radar is Tom Gorrio's follow up band after Baby Calendar.  I've covered Tom's bands since I was publishing UnScene Zine and Unite Magazine when I wrote about another band that he was in, Objects In Transit.  Call It Radar holds onto that innocent Indie Rock that Baby Calendar did so amazingly, but infuses Prep Rock (like Vampire Weekend, but I have no idea it would be called Prep Rock, it's more like Nerd Rock) and a slight Carribean feel also.  I really like the music that Tom has made over the years.  OIT and Baby Calendar are two local albums that I still listen to this day - and that's five years or so after I first got them!flamingoapril3small

L' Savant plays another REVMiami show after the stellar job they did at the Rockaway Beach Show, from March 14.  After working with a ton of bands, I can definitely say that finding bands with good, proactive attitudes are rare.  I mainly deal with Alessandro Martino, lead vocals and guitar, and when I call he's excited to play a show.  That by itself makes them a REVMiami favorite.

Oh, and also, as a mention, the inside party that the Outside Concert Series runs along with, Flamingo Fridays, is going to be unveiling the death scene of Jose El Rey from Aiden Dillard's DeathPrint.

It should be a really good night.
