Big City Breakdown 1: Afrobeta - "Nighttime"

Big City Breakdown (BCB) is a bi-weekly video feature where local musicians are taken out of their typical performance element and placed at one of Miami’s outdoor hotspots as they present a song. The presentation will be shot in a single running take with no editing magic. BCB is an opportunity to showcase Miami’s best talent, highlighting their versatility without electricity, four walls, and other amenities of the bar and club scene.

In the first installment of Big City Breakdown we feature Miami’s electro pop duo, Afrobeta, performing at a signature South Beach lifeguard tower. We were lucky to get a break from the summer showers to capture this stripped down version of Nighttime.

This is an exciting moment for REVMiami. Working on the premier with Afrobeta was great. I was surprised when Tony Smurphio showed up with an acoustic guitar and Cuci Amador busted out a melodica, it was an evening I will never forget.
