TM Sisters' Whirl Crash Go!
Tasha and Monica Lopez de Victoria, better known as the TM Sisters, have been getting a bunch of attention for their upcoming art installation in Locust Gallery called Whirl, Crash Go!
The Lead, a new print magazine that has been billed as The Sun Post circa 2008, did a big spread on the girls in their August 7 issue.
I can't reprint what was posted, but essentially the concept of the exhibition is to show the development of the project and an upcoming performance piece centered around the athletic hobbies of the girls – Tasha is a speed skater and Monica is a synchronized swimmer. The girls and their hobbies were actually featured in Aiden Dillard's DeathPrint which premiered a couple of weeks ago at Miami Beach's Colony Theater.
The girls are the artist sweethearts of Miami, being part of Notorious Nastie and PS14's Flamingo Fridays, shows at the Upper East Side Garden, their work with Otto von Schirach (who is doing sound for Whirl Crash Go!), and a whole lot more.
The opening performance of Whirl Crash Go! is on August 29, at 8pm, with a repeat performance on October 17 October 10 (sorry Monica!), at Locus Projects, 155 N.E. 38th Street, in the Wynwood Art District.

Actually, the repeat performance is happening on Saturday October 10th. Not the 17th.
