Filmiami announces Miami Music Festival
Talk about groundswell! Just when you thought Miami had reached it's capacity for locally grown Festivals, FILMIAMI, which is the Miami Dade Office of Film & Entertainment Board, announces the Miami Music Festival.
MMF will take place December 10-12, which is the week after this year's Art Basel, and promises "...a showcase and conference featuring over 600 performances by emerging artists on 25 stages..."
Their website states that the schedule of performances will be posted on November 10.
Anyway, this mega event needs performers! Artists are urged to go to the Miami Music Festival Website to apply for the gig and to buy tickets -- the entire event is $50 or $35 for students, and one-day passes are $25 or $20 for students.

yeah...they're trying to launch a music fest and not pay the musicians. WTF is wrong with these promoters!! If its not one thing, it's another!
In all fairness, sometimes bands have to bite the bullet to play in a gigantic festival. Let's say that each band gets paid $50 each -- only $50 -- that's $30,000, and with that number it would be impossible to attempt pulling off a 600 band festival.
Let's be honest.. you have to want to bend over backwards to play for whoever whenever under any conditions.. music performance seems to be the wrong choice if not eh
Who told em to book 600 bands? Are there even 600 bands in Miami? And how gigantic can this be? It's a first time event and there's no word of a national headliner. Who or what is going to draw the crowds in?
