Farewell PS14
I heard the news a couple of days ago but it was finally confirmed when I came across this article in the Miami New Times.
PS14 was not quite the perfect venue, long and narrow, dingy, scary bathrooms, and a bit on the ghetto side (their own motto, "Lookin' Good in the Hood"). But it was home for many, many people and bands.
I held all three REVMiami parties there, along with at least a dozen patio parties. I saw so many bands at PS14 over the past year it's mind boggling: Old Wives' Tale, Astari Nite, ArtOfficial, Don Sha, BfGf, Hoosha, Dyslexic Postcards, MadMartigan, Fireside Social, Rotogilla, Furious Dudes, and at least 50 more. Plus I met some amazing people that would literally run this post off the page if I took the time to list them all.
PS14 was a family affair. Going there felt like a group of friends getting together for a party at their house. To Brian, Aramis, Nastie, Alan, Stacey, Junior, Q, Dennis, and everyone else that lovingly cared for PS14, thank you for everything. You guys defined that place and made it somewhere that catered to the local music scene.
