Weekend Videos: ArtOfficial, Otto von Schirach, Borscht Film Festival
Video #1: ArtOfficial - Big City Bright Lights
I'm not letting the cat out of the bag until Monday (unless you follow REVMiami on Facebook), but I have an alterior motive for pushing their video. But don't let that distract you ArtOfficial's amazingness, plus this is a band that loves their city. Also, as a "behind the music" note, ArtOfficial is one of the most focused and hardest working bands in Miami - and to have a group of 6 members who are all on that same page is pretty miraculous in and of itself.
Video #2: Otto Von Schirach - Laptops and Martinis
I can never watch this video enough times, and trust me, it has nothing to do with drugs... I promise. Anyway, Otto von Schirach is one of Miami's rare gems that has achieved an enormous amount of success outside of this city, mainly in Europe, but also around the US. This video was made by Motomichi Nakamura, an incredibly respected artist in his own right. Be careful, it's pretty addictive.
Video #3: Borscht Film Festival
Unfortunately, REVMiami wasn't able to cover the Borscht Film Festival this past year, but we enthusiastically support what this group of artists is doing nonetheless. This video, produced by WLRN's ArtStreet Miami, outlined the growth of Borscht leading up to the 2009 Festival. I haven't heard about the 2010 Festival yet, but we'll be sure to keep everyone filled in.
