REVMiami's 1 Year Anniversary Celebration: Review
Floored. I really have no other way to describe it.
Our 1 Year Anniversary Celebration was an amazing happening that culminated after a whole year of focus, work, and love. I heard from almost every direction, "this was the best lineup I've seen" or "every single band sounded amazing."
All the bands came out and blew the roof off White Room, and I especially give props to ArtOfficial and Radioboxer. ArtOffical was their typical selves, the most talented band in Miami (have you ever seen them not play well?). Radioboxer played their hearts out, culminating with lead singer Vanne jumping on the drum set, ripping her shirt off (PG version, of course), and making the crowd go crazy.
Nonetheless, every single band came out and played amazingly. I've always had one simple rule for all the REVMiami concerts: "book good bands, and the night takes care of itself."
Also, and this is a point of personal pride, the show finished being delayed by only a half-an-hour. Any veteran of the Miami music scene knows this is a big deal. Not to get into the muddy details of running live music events (even though one day I will), but I am constantly challenging myself and the people I work with to do things better. I am never satisfied with the "business as usual" moniker, and am especially never satisfied with other people being dissatisfied. Bands, audiences, sound engineers, bartenders, organizers, etc., are not happy with leaving a venue at 5am, waiting for the last bands to get their sets done. Being on time is a big deal in making live concerts and shows run smoothly and be pleasant for everyone involved.

Thanks to everyone who made it out. But, I want to give a special thank you to Notorious Nastie. He presented me with a plaque of thanks for supporting the Miami live music scene, it was a wonderful gesture, and it's up on the wall in my apartment now as a reminder of what passion for the arts can accomplish.
If this is what one year of doing REVMiami can accomplish, then I am more than excited for what this year has to bring.
Thanks for all the love and support for the past year to every single person who has been a part of REV. As I've always said from Day 1, REVMiami is about consistency, hardwork, and longevity. Let's keep it going.
Sincerely,
Ric
