What a long winded response from just another run of the mill 'bad business' person. YOU, and your favoritism, and your pitiful schedule keeping are the culprit (does anyone else remember the 420 fest saga a few years ago?).

You really have some huge balls there, writing a ten page essay blaming the bands?

Every type of band, and support system, is at the mercy of the urban sprawl layout of this city's venues, which in turn is directed by the scumbag promoters who have yet to properly care (or at least not in my entire 6 year experience here).

BECAUSE: PROMOTERS JOBS SHOULD BE TO PROMOTE.

Don't sit here and blame us for not doing enough, when in every single city on earth, the band's job is to find out when they're playing and let their buddies know and showing up and having a good time.

How much fun is it, to get to a fucking venue only to find the slots have changed, bands got added, the 'promoters' and 'organizers' are schmoozing with the bartenders, or harassing band girlfriend's and friends about cover money (a dime of which, the bands aren't going to see anyways).

Your ego's little pre-cum here, while selective and official sounding in vocabulary choice was right about ONE thing.

'Bad Business people' get sloughed out. The ONLY reason the scene has been coming back to life in the last few months is because more upcoming musicians have realized that the age of douche middle men selling drink specials is now ancient news.

So, why not start a blog telling promoters how to do their fucking jobs, or telling patrons about all the fantastic music they're missing out on instead of shitting some more on some of the most patient and taken advantage of bands in the country.

Other wise, seeing as YOU'RE not putting together to many shows (or signing too many bands), why not keep your pretty little advice to yourself.

Good insights man. Especially appreciate the honesty of the piece about communication between the support team/performers...and bands knowing their place.
