¡Felicidades Etsy! Saying Happy Birthday with Craft
If you are even slightly connected to the craft scene in any way, odds are that you’re familiar with Etsy.com. For everyone else, Etsy is a fantastic online marketplace specializing in all kinds of handmade crafts, supplies and vintage goodies. It’s physically impossible to spend less than 14 straight hours on that site searching for all kinds of fun handmade goodies. I dare you!
This Friday, June 18, Etsy celebrates their birthday, and you’re all invited!
In lieu of a traditional B-day party, Etsy is throwing a global Etsy Craft Party. Creative communities everywhere are coming together to celebrate the art of craft and handmade.
Thankfully we are lucky enough to have the Hollywood Craft Mafia at the helm of one of South Florida’s largest parties. Pearl Art and Craft Store has agreed to keep the doors open late and host HCM’s party from 8pm-10pm. Etsy announced that the top 50 parties with the most RSVP’s would receive a special box of fun goodies and these women on a mission made it happen!
Originally the group anticipated a max of 25 people; the expected attendance is now somewhere in the neighborhood of 100. $3 gets you in the door and gives you access to all kinds of fun art projects. Handmade recycled stamps and upcycled wristlets are on the menu, and who knows what other projects HCM has in store. Come empty handed and walk out a crafting queen (or king).
Although the crafts will be in full swing, don’t mistake this party for a classroom. Although HCM will be providing the supplies and instructions, this event is more of a social celebration of the craft movement. RSVP’s aren’t a requirement so grab some friends and come on out this Friday for the Fort Lauderdale Etsy Craft Party at Pearl!
