We are expanding the scope of the Big City Breakdown, taking on the streets of other big cities! The concept remains the same, where we are selecting the area’s best local bands to play one unplugged song, outdoors while we film the performance in one running take. The Big City Breakdown is an opportunity to showcase the city’s most talented bands outside of the traditional club and bar scene with no electricity, no editing magic, and no boundaries.

Garo from Dooms De Pop met us at a warehouse space outside of downtown Ft. Lauderdale called the Bubble. The Bubble is headquarters for The Independent Working Artist Network (I.W.A.N), an organization, established by Garo and his girlfriend Yvonne, dedicated to promoting local art. We walked around the space filled with artwork from past and future shows, looking for a location to shoot until we agreed on a pepto bismol colored corner in the backyard.

The Dooms De Pop leader performed "Portable Paradox" alone using a twelve-string guitar. He sung the song, of a topsy-turvy relationship with a bittersweet ending, in a traditional balladier fashion. The song will be featured on Dooms De Pop's full-length album titled Ticker, which the power trio plans to release by the end of the summer. Until then keep an eye out for their local performances at the Bubble and around the tri-county area.
